June 28 and 29th AP Workshop


APes,
The following will need to be completed by August the 8th. 
What am I responsible for again?
  • Following the Polk County guidelines/list of topics ( published under "Summer Projects" on this blog.
  • Knowing your specific guidelines in your specific AP Studio area (i.e. 2D, 3D, or Drawing)
  • Be prepared for a quiz on your requirements on the AP guidelines.
How many pieces do I have to do?  - Depends on which AP Group you are in. 
       
   2D & Drawing
  • 2 morph/transformation drawings. work on paper no larger than 18x24 but larger than 8x11, drawings must contain at least 9 total transitions from one object to another. 
  • 5 Counterchange drawings/Negative Space drawings. 
  • 7 drawings/designs from the Polk county Summer assignment list
  • Students will need to have all 300 photographs taken, labeled correctly and available for observation. (students may use a flash drive, or upload to picasa http://picasa.google.com/
  • You will have a total of 14 works and 300 photographs due on August 8th. If they are of high quality, it is likely you will have completed half of your assignments for the WHOLE YEAR!
     3D
  • 3/1 styrofoam transition/morphed sculptures. From one object into another. 1 beginning, 1 middle, and 1 end. There will be 3 separate pieces to make this 1 piece. 
  • 1 piece from the self hardening clay you were issued. Your pick of topic from the Polk County Summer list. 
  • 3 Paper sculptures. Suspension and Structure must be the main themes. Abstraction is highly recommended. Size is up to the student. Digital pictures are mandatory - at least 3 different views.
